Photos of the day: Johan Santana rehab

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — I’m in a Renaissance journalist’s mood right now.

What does that mean? Well, though I’m primarily a writer/reporter, I can also take photos (and shoot/edit video). Therefore, I decided to share some photos from last year.

Mets ace Johan Santana, trying to recover from the Tommy John surgery he had in September 2010, pitched in a rehab game last July in Port St. Lucie.

Here are a few photos from that outing.

Each one is there for a reason: 1) The hand hold/mental support 2) The cool shadows 3) The movement – from the ball, to his body to the bat on the far right.
